Exploring Waikiki

One of my favorite things about Hawaii is the food. Luckily, our hotel is surrounded by markets, bars, and restaurants. On our second day in the city, we stumbled upon the cutest Hawaiian restaurant just outside the Waikiki Shopping Center. Aloha Table is charming and refreshingly innovative. They’re located in an alley, next to a tiki bar and a shrimp truck that gets rave reviews.

Fueling Up For Lanikai Beach

While researching things to do on Oahu prior to our trip, I came across Buho Cantina under the Waikiki geotag. The colorful food and view of the city is what caught my attention, but the breakfast buffet is what got me to visit. Tyler and I dined on coconut fried rice with Portuguese sausage and mini burritos. Since we were still on California time, we beat the rush and got there by 9AM. Our server surprised with goodies not on the buffet lineup; eggs benedict, avocado toast, and pancakes and as we were wrapping up, she asked if we’d be interested in a banana smoothie. Reluctantly, we turned down the sweet treat because we were on our way to float down the Pacific. We packed up the Jeep with sunscreen, waters, and an inner tube shaped like a flamingo and drove east to Lanikai Beach.

Getting Blow Away @ Pali Lookout

Literally and figuratively, the view paired with the high powered winds of Nu’uanu Pali State Wayside. The foggy views reminded me of home, except it 20 degrees warmer. Although the gusts nearly knocked me over, the humid temps made my swimsuit turned bodysuit, feel totally appropriate for the day. The suit is sold out on ASOS (bikini version available), but I found the one piece still in stock via Surf Stitch
