It’s been so cold recently, that thinking about what to wear on the daily has been a challenge. I’ve been shielding every body part from the frigid breeze by wearing boots (to cover my ankles) and crossbody bags (to keep my hands in my pockets!). This fanny pack solved the ladder, meaning I could keep my mitts warm in this belted coat. And though, spring is just around the corner I have a difficult time thinking we’re clear of the cooler temperatures. It’s a good time to invest in a coat you’ll wear now and next year as outer layers are going on sale.

Last weekend, I made a trip to the Sunset District to pick up a few ingredients to make udon (recipe coming soon!). There are a handful of ingredients that aren’t available in Safeway or Whole Foods, so a special trip to an Asian grocery store was mandatory. Plus, I’ll take any excuse to visit one so I can stock up on international snacks. Of course, it was only fitting that I wore my paper-bag waist pants to a grocery store because you know, brown paper bags (is that too much of a stretch?)… I’ve been looking for a pair of pants in brown or khaki to mix up my normal denim game. These Topshop chinos are so soft and comfy. They run true to size, though I did have to cuff them a couple of times so they hit above my ankles. They’re fairly lightweight, so I could see them being perfect for spring/summer.

I bought these sneakers in-store and had no idea they’re waterproof until I read the online description (no wonder they felt a tad heavier than regular sneakers…). Unfortunately California hasn’t seen much rain, but when we do, I’ll be prepared. Not to mention the white & black version would be perfect for stomping in muddy puddles. They’re $40 and run true to size (most sizes currently in stock).
