If you’re short like me, you’ll love the new ankle stretch denim from Everlane — and if you’re of average height or above, there’s a good chance you’ll like these too (they come in regular and tall!). Basically, for the price and fit, you’ll want to try on a pair for yourself. Here are my thoughts on the Everlane Authentic Stretch High-Rise Skinny Ankle Jean:

  • TTS: My normal size (25) fit great.
  • Length: I’m 5’2″ and they hit just above my ankle (pre-wash). They come in regular and tall lengths too.
  • Rise: My torso is fairly average (not long or short) and the waist hits just above my belly button — for high-rise denim this is my preferred fit.
  • Stretch (the good kind): I do a whole lot of bending and squatting at work and these jeans were able to move with me, without stretching out. After two full days of wear, they fit just as well as when they arrived.
  • Fabric: I can only speak to black wash, but this is where I have to grade slightly below average. The inside of the jeans feel fine, but the outside is a little scratchy. However, some designer denim feels this way too, which leads me to my next point…
  • Price: For $68, I think you’ll be really impressed with the quality of fit. The first day I wore them, three coworkers asked who made my jeans — not bad for a basic pair of black skinnies
