It’s the first day of fall (or so Instagram tells me) so that means I can break out all the seasonal colors — like varying shades of brown. The orangish tint of this sweater gives me major vintage vibes and makes me want to experiment with other autumnal hues, cc: mustard and rust. Fortunately all of these shades pair well together, meaning I can layer them all on with little effort.

If you don’t own a pair of cargo pants, you should. They’re more comfortable than jeans and available for every budget. These $37 pants are the a nice length even though they’re not petite. I really love the high rise and straight-leg fit — I rolled them up twice for a slightly tapered feel.  I’m wearing a US 4 (my normal size) and I’ve linked to similar styles below:

When this valley girl first moved to San Francisco almost 10 years ago, I immediately thought I made a mistake. I was out of my element; I didn’t know where to eat, shop, or just hang out. Fortunately, I had no friends, so “hanging out” was less of a priority, but I still wanted to build a list of favorites like I had back home. When my family said they were going to visit, it was my job to find a place for dinner. Other than being anxious about finding a restaurant that could comfortably seat my party, I was more worried about finding a place that would satisfy everybody’s cravings. Then I discovered Original Joe’s in Westlake (I know they’re not located in SF like someone pointed out on Instagram, but it was close to SFSU) — the extensive Italian-American menu, meant there was something for everyone. The old school vibes make your experience feel intimate, though the property is spacious enough that you’re not bumping backs with the table behind you. As for the food, they serve large portions and it’s good if you like classic diner dishes — think comfort food. If you find yourself in Daly City, be sure to check them out.
